We provide in-person services in the Greater Dallas-Fort Worth area and serve all of Texas with our robust telehealth care.  The ideal candidate for this position has a heart for working with underserved communities, providing these critical services to children and families from diverse backgrounds impacted by trauma.

About the Program:

EmpathyHQ has launched a program titled "Alliance Afterschool" which provides individual and group therapy FREE OF CHARGE to children between 0 - 17 years old or still enrolled in high school. This program is grant-funded through December 2024, specifically for children residing in Tarrant County. 

About the Position:

REQUIREMENTS OF THIS PROGRAM:  Due to the sensitive nature of the program and the youth being served, there would be a 1 Year commitment of employment with EmpathyHQ with a restriction to not seek outside employment providing direct outpatient therapy services.  

If hired to serve youth in this program, the Therapist would have the following requirements and job duties to provide weekly BRIEF individual therapy services (up to 12 completed sessions), which may include:

  • Completing a comprehensive psychosocial assessment and eligibility screening,
  • Assessing the mental and behavioral health status of referred Clients and ensuring that clinical assessments are up to date based on best practice, grant requirements, and agency policies,
  • Identifying patients with urgent mental health conditions (e.g., suicidal, homicidal, psychotic, etc.) and making appropriate referrals to higher levels of care (Emergency, Inpatient, PHP/IOP) as needed,
  • Formulating differential diagnoses of mild to moderate mental health conditions or substance abuse,
  • Using evidenced-based practices and professional counseling standards to provide ongoing psychotherapy / behavioral health counseling with measurable outcomes and goals,
  • Completing discharge planning/discussion from the start of services while monitoring the overall number of sessions (as only 12 individual sessions are covered through grant funding).
  • (negotiable) Providing group therapy services (with the support of at least one (1) additional group leader present) weekly, which may include the same documentation
  • Completing documentation of all therapeutic services per the requirements of EmpathyHQ and documenting outcomes for grant funding,
  • Completing outreach to local schools, agencies, community leaders, and other stakeholders about the program and to increase participation,
  • Participating in weekly Therapy Department meetings and quarterly Agency Meetings.

Location & Hours of Position:

This position is based at one or more of the Fort Worth ISD Family Resource Centers (though generally only one site per day), which are located at: 

  • FRC - Northside (at J.P. Elder MS) @ 2011 Prospect Ave. Fort Worth, TX 76164
  • FRC - Forest Oak (at Forest Oak MS) @ 3250 Pecos St. Fort Worth, TX 76119
  • FRC - Riverside (at Riverside MS) @ 1550 Bolton Fort Worth, TX 76111
  • FRC - Western Hills (at Western Hills ES) @ 8340 Mojave Trl. Fort Worth, TX 76116

Hours must be within FRC operating hours, which vary and may be subject to change:

  • Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays = 8am to 5pm
  • Tuesdays, Thursdays = 10am - 7pm

Licensing Qualifications and Pay Range :  

Fully-Licensed Therapist (LCSW, LPC, LMFT)

  • Must have a Texas unrestricted license to practice and be willing and able to be credentialed on Medicare, Medicaid, and other insurance panels.
  • Salary Range: $60K - $80K

Midlevel Therapist (LPC-A, LMFT-A, LMSW in Clinical Supervision)

  • Must have or be eligible for a Texas unrestricted Associate license to provide direct clinical practice
  • Salary Range: $50K - $70K
  • LCSW or LPC Clinical Supervision can be provided in-house at no cost to the employee with Courtney Jordan LPC-S, Melinda Kallmeyer LPC-S, or Anastasia Taylor, LCSW-S, upon acceptance by either Supervisor for Supervision.
  • Clinical Supervision costs up to $100 per week to meet with an Outside Supervisor, which can be reimbursed each pay period.

LPC, LCSW Graduate Intern

  • Must be entering Practicum or Internship for Clinical Mental Health degree with no other classes pending for graduation.  If you are extended an offer, you will be asked to obtain documentation from your School Advisor and Practicum Advisor verifying these facts and your ability to balance full-time employment and practicum.
  • Salary Range: $30K - $50K
  • Site Supervision can be provided in-house at no cost to the employee with Courtney Jordan LPC-S or Melinda Kallmeyer LPC-S upon acceptance by either Supervisor for Supervision.
